Service Description
Connect with Emma: https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/counsellors/emma- Email: emmachurmstherapy@gmail.com Emma is an integrative BACP-registered therapist, meaning she draws from different therapeutic modalities, rather than expecting clients to fit into one fixed way of working. Alongside supporting clients with a wide range of topics, Emma has a particular interest in the ways people unconsciously shape themselves around expectation and belonging. Her research into deconversion therapy, after leaving high control environments, led her to explore how deeply-held beliefs and the ‘shoulds’ in our lives, can continue long after the original environment has been left behind. This perspective informs much of her work. She is especially interested in the point where people begin questioning inherited narratives from culture, family, or communities and trying to work out what actually belongs to them. Working exclusively online, Emma values the flexibility and accessibility online therapy can offer her clients. Her work is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and a belief that therapy can help people reconnect with what genuinely feels true and meaningful to them.
